Today marks the 40th anniversary of the assassination of civil rights leader Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Makes you realize of how far we have come as a nation and yet how far we have to go.

The AP asked, “What if the Rev. King had lived?”

The preacher in him would have continued speaking out against injustice, war and maybe even pop culture. He would likely not have run for president. He probably would have endured more harassment from J. Edgar Hoover.

What if? The Boondocks posed this very same question a few years ago in my favorite episode, ‘The Return of King.”

You know it’s bad when MLK uses the n-word to talk about his own people. A far cry from the “I Have A Dream” speech.
